Hi, I'm Sarah Cressall.I set
up the Creation Station in 2002 when I had my third son.
My other 2 boys where 3½ and 20 months and I was
struggling with being able to provide a calm and happy ‘creative
messy play times’ at home.

There where too many distractions,
the boys would only sit for a couple of minutes and announce
they’d finished’ when I was still setting up!
It was hard to actually enjoy the activities with them as
I was too busy getting everything out, washing up and trying
to get them clean before they charged through the house.
I spent 4 years developing the session structure to create
a little bit of magic to inspire and encourage the children
to be aware of their own ideas and to explore their ideas
using a range of tools and materials. The sessions are designed
within the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ Dept of
Education framework and take into account The Early Goals,
educational guidelines for pre-school children to help prepare
tem for school. an educationally developed 12 week programme.
includes music, movement as well as art and craft, and there
is no right or wrong in the session. Some children use the
paints as hand cream, children need to run about, or will
be more fascinated by the dustpan and brush.
